Submissions and Presenter Instructions

Important Dates

July 1, 2018 – Deadline for final revised paper submission
August 1, 2018 – Registration deadline to be included in Conference Proceedings
July 1, 2019 – Completion of post-conference publications of selected papers

Information for Authors

Authors may access their paper information and reviews using the submission portal. Download the template for papers here.

All papers were peer-reviewed anonymously by two reviewers. If your paper requires revisions deemed necessary by reviewer’s comments, the final revised paper is due by July 1, 2018.

All accepted papers will be published in the digital conference proceedings, if one of the authors registers for the conference before August 1, 2018. Each registered participant may be the primary presenters for a maximum of 2 papers; however, there is no limit on papers as co-author. Note: Final acceptance and inclusion in the proceedings will also be contingent on the presenting author registering for and attending the conference.

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will have a 15-minute time slot in the program, organized into 1.5 hour sessions moderated by at least one chairperson. Each presenter should prepare a 12-minute maximum PowerPoint (preferred) or PDF slide presentation. This leaves the remaining time for the chairperson to briefly introduce you (< 1 min) and time after your presentation for question and answer (2-3 min). A suggested PowerPoint template may be found here.

Poster Presentations

Poster presenters should prepare a hardcopy of their poster and bring it to the conference on their own, to be pinned to poster panel boards. Posters must be designed in landscape orientation, and can be a maximum of 48 inches wide by 36 inches tall. A suggested PowerPoint template for posters may be found here.

Post-Conference Publication

Selected papers will be invited to submit an extended full paper for peer-reviewed publication in a journal such as the ASHRAE Research Journal – Science and Technology of the Built Environment (STBE), Journal of Building Physics, and Building Performance Simulation.
