Papers

Authors of accepted abstracts have been notified of acceptance for full papers. The maximum length of full papers is SIX (6) pages including the abstract, references, figures, tables, and captions. The length of the written paper will have no impact on the allocation of papers to oral or poster presentation. The template should be used and submitted to the submission portal (link forthcoming). The deadline for submission is April 1, 2018.

All papers will be peer-reviewed anonymously by two members of the International Scientific Committee (ISC). A paper will be accepted if both reviewers recommend acceptance. If one of the reviewers rejects a paper, a third ISC member will review the paper to reach the final decision. Authors may be requested to make revisions if deemed necessary by the reviewers. Reviewer’s acceptance and possible comments will be communicated through the paper submission service by June 1, 2018. If your paper requires revision deemed necessary by reviewer’s comments, the final revised paper is due by July 1, 2018. All accepted papers will be published in the digital conference proceedings, if one of the authors registers for the conference before August 1, 2018.

Each registered participant may be the primary presenters for a maximum of 2 papers; however, there is no limit on papers as co-author. Note: Final acceptance and inclusion in the proceedings will also be contingent on the presenting author registering for and attending the conference.

Please be sure to follow these instructions carefully. The Technical Committee reserves the right to reject or require further revision of papers if they are not submitted by the deadline, if they are not properly formatted, or if reviewer comments have not been adequately addressed.

Post-Conference Publication

Selected papers will be invited to submit an extended full paper for peer-reviewed publication in a journal such as the ASHRAE Research Journal – Science and Technology of the Built Environment (STBE), Journal of Building Physics, and Building Performance Simulation.

Forums

The organizers of IBPC2018 invite the submission of proposals for technical forums to be held during the conference to discuss emerging issues related to the conference theme and topics. Each forum session will be scheduled for 90 minutes. Up to 8 forum sessions will be held at the conference, which will be selected by the Technical Program Committee of IBPC2018. Workshops

The organizers of IBPC2018 invite the submission of proposals for workshops for pre-conference workshops on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23 at SyracuseCoE. Workshop duration can be half or full-day and should emphasize current topics of particular interest to the IBPC community. Workshops should include sessions that encourage the active participation of attendees, such as software tutorials, panel discussions, writing exercises, or similar activities.
